UBA Campus Ambassadors

The United Bank for Africa is offering students in universities across Nigeria the opportunity to become its ambassadors in their various campuses. Through its Campus Ambassadors Program, UBA aims to connect with young people who are passionate about its brand and make them part of its drive to become more youth-focused and dynamic. UBA will be selecting 10 campus ambassadors who will be spreading the word about its products and services in their universities for a year. They will learn about UBA’s innovative products, come up with smart ways of reaching people on campus with information about its services, host fun events and act as feelers for the bank, collecting information on campus trends and helping the bank understand the unique environments of each campus. MTN Entrepreneurship Challenge

MTN, in partnership with the MTN Solution Space and Jumia, are proud to announce the launch of the  MTN Entrepreneurship Challenge powered by Jumia . The Pan-African competition will be the first of its kind in Africa, bringing together over 1000 entrepreneurs, students and investors, to collaborate on ways to amplify and consolidate the continent’s entrepreneurs. Targeting more than 60 universities in 13 countries across Africa, the competition will challenge students to develop a unique digital application or smart solution that will solve a tangible problem faced on the continent. RICE COMPANY TO CREATE 7000 JOBS

Rice company, Pearl Universal Impex Limited, is creating over 7,000 jobs through its rice farming project in Niger State. Following a successful pilot phase of its rice project in June this year, the firm says it was ready to determine the variety of rice most suitable to Saminaka, a community situated around Swashi Dam in Borgu Local Government Area of the state where it currently has 500 hectares of land. Chairman of Pearl Universal, Pulkit Jain, said that the project would create 3,000 direct and 4,000 indirect jobs through its out-grower scheme. Jain also revealed that $100m (N20bn) would be committed to the cultivation of 7,500 hectares of rice farm and construction of two rice mills in the state in the next three years.
